24 each  asparagus spears, fresh, small
3 tbsp  balsamic vinegar
2 tbsp  minced onion
1 tsp  extra virgin olive oil
1 each  medium garlic cloves
0 1/4 tsp  black pepper
  1. Fill a large saucepan with 1-inch of water and set steamer rack in saucepan.
  2. Place asparagus on rack and bring water to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat to low and steam asparagus over water, covered.
  4. Combine vinegar, onion, oil, garlic, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Move asparagus to a decorative platter and pour vinegar mixture over it.
