0 1/2 lb  potatoes, fresh, medium
16 each  medium garlic cloves
5 tbsp  cold water
1 pinch  black pepper
1 pinch  salt
  1. Wash the potatoes and cut into 1-inch pieces without peeling.
  2. Put cut potatoes in a sauce pan and add cold water.
  3. Cover with a lid, bring to a boil, and cook for 10 minutes.
  4. Add garlic cloves and cover for another 5 minutes.
  5. Remove 5 tablespoons of the cooking water and drain the potatoes and garlic.
  6. Mash the potatoes and garlic before whisking in the reserved water.
  7. Add salt and pepper before serving.
