6 cup  medium cucumber
2 cup  sliced white onion
1 1/2 cup  distilled white vinegar
0 3/4 cup  sugar
0 3/4 tsp  salt
0 1/2 tsp  mustard seed, ground
0 1/2 tsp  celery seeds
0 1/2 tsp  ground turmeric
0 1/2 tsp  hot red pepper flakes
0 1/4 tsp  black pepper
2 tsp  minced garlic
  1. Wash, peel, and trim ends from cucumbers. Cut into thin slices.
  2. In large glass bowl or jar, add 3 cups of cucumbers, topped with 1 cup of onion.
  3. Layer remaining cucumbers and onions.
  4. In small saucepan, over medium heat, mix vinegar, sugar, salt, ground mustard, celery seeds, turmeric, red pepper, black pepper, and minced garlic.
  5. Bring to boil and cook for 1 minute.
  6. Ladle dressing over cucumbers. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 4 days.
