1 1/2 each  medium apples
1 1/2 each  medium pears
0 1/2 cup  quick cooking rolled oats
0 1/4 cup  packed light brown sugar
3 tbsp  white all purpose flour
1 tsp  ground cinnamon
0 1/4 tsp  ground nutmeg
4 tsp  Margarine, 80% fat
  1. Spray a 9-inch square microwave-safe baking pan with cooking spray. Put the apples and the pears into the pan.
  2. Place in microwave with a vented cover and cook on high for 3 minutes. Stir and cook on high for an additional 3 minutes. The apples and pears should be tender yet still crisp.
  3. While fruit is cooking. mix the oatmeal, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small bowl.
  4. Cut the margarine into the mixture with a pastry blender. If a pastry blender is not available you can use two knives. Mixture will look like coarse crumbles.
  5. Sprinkle margarine and flour mixture over the fruit and microwave on high until the fruit is soft, about 6 minutes.
