Ingredients Directions - In a medium saucepan over medium heat scald the milk and sugar. Use a measuring cup, and dissolve the cornstarch in the water, and add to the hot milk, stirring constantly.
- Using a small bowl, pour some of the hot milk mixture into the egg yolk, stir, and transfer back to the saucepan.
- Cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly, or until mixture thickens slightly and comes to a boil. Remove from heat, and add vanilla. Let cool and refrigerate.
