All information contained on dLife.com is intended for informational and educational purposes only. Our Expert Q&A is not intended to be a replacement or substitute for consultation with a qualified medical professional or for professional medical advice related to diabetes or another medical condition. Please contact your physician or medical professional with any questions and concerns about your medical condition.
Asking a Question
Guideline 1. Before posting a question, make sure it has not already been asked and answered. If you cannot find the answer you seek, then post your succinct question, making sure to select the appropriate category for posting.
Guideline 2. Submitted questions may be answered by community members and experts alike. There is no guarantee that all questions will be answered. dLife retains the right to delete a question.
Guideline 3. In order to get the best possible answer, it is helpful to have as much background info as possible. Keep your question as short and to the point as possible. Use the Background Information box to give information such as pertinent medical history. Submitting a question does not guarantee an expert response nor does it guarantee an answer in a certain amount if time. Answering questions is at the discretion of the experts.
Guideline 4. Questions specific to dLife content, i.e. recipes, quizzes, columns, etc., and/ or about the dLifeTV show are not within the scope of our experts' advice. These types of questions should be addressed in the dLife Forum, specifically in the Talk About dLifeTV folder or the dLife Feedback: Kudos and Complaints.
Guideline 5. The dLife.com site is not meant to be a substitute for professional medical advice. Please consult with your doctor about your healthcare issues. And always go to an emergency room or call 911 in any life-threatening situation.
Guideline 6. It is our desire to answer as many questions as possible, as quickly and thoroughly as possible. However, repetitive questions, incomplete/unclear questions, and questions easily answered by searching the dLife website will be considered low priority and may go unanswered by a dLife Expert, although the community will still be free to respond.
Answering a Question
Guideline 1. Frame your answers as suggestions from personal experience, and refrain from giving medical advice.
Guideline 2. Answers that are commercial in nature, that contain obscene or disrespectful language, or that contain information that could be considered dangerous or harmful will be removed at dLifes sole discretion. Commercial posting is defined as someone pitching a product or service that financially benefits the poster. Users may freely share their experiences with legitimate products or services that they have no commercial interest in. Commercial posts will be deleted when found, and repeat offenders banned at the discretion of dLife. dLife is the final arbitrator of what is considered a commercial posting.
Users may reference a book or product that they are affiliated with as a part of their signature file, and in some instances, as part of their answer when it is the best or only available resource to answer the question. Again, the moderation of answers will be at the sole discretion of dLife with the best interest of the dLife community members in mind.
