dLife Expands Its Reach
World’s First Medutainment Program to Appear on Satellite Television/Radio
(Westport, CT) – dLife, the world’s first “medutainment” program and the only primetime offering dedicated solely to those living with diabetes announced today that they have signed carriage agreements with the world’s largest satellite television and radio providers. The deals, which build come in addition to its weekly national broadcast on CNBC (Sunday evenings at 7 PM Eastern), puts the dLife episodes on DIRECTV Channel 251 on Sunday mornings at 7:30 AM Eastern, and places “dLife Diabetic Minutes,” featuring NBC’s Dr. Bob Arnot, across the XM Satellite Radio Network. The deals allow dLife programming to reach an additional 20 million satellite subscribers.
Howard Steinberg, Founder and CEO of dLife said, “With an American population of almost 22 million living with diabetes, and hundreds of millions more at risk, it is clear that programming that demonstrates a community and helps those living with the disease manage their day to day lives’ time has come.”
In addition to the satellite deals, dLife also announced that its programming will be carried on the Healthy Living Network, a private satellite television network that reaches over 3.6 million patients and their companions in doctor’s offices in the top 200 American markets (according to Nielsen). Shows will be “looped” and air throughout the day, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
“As more and more people living with diabetes become aware that dLife exists, the program, which thrives on input from the diabetes community, becomes stronger. It draws from a wider base of experiences, relays those experiences to a larger audience and, most importantly, reminds those suffering with diabetes that they are not alone,” added Steinberg.
In addition to the television show, dLife provides an online community as well. For more information please visit www.dlife.com.
