Zoe Heineman, BS, MS, CPT resides in Manhattan where she ran the ING NYC marathon in 2013 on the Achilles team with a starting line blood glucose of 157 mg/dl and a finish line blood glucose of 142 mg/dl.
In 2014, she launched project "Ha!" to raise public awareness of hypoglycemia, training first responders to recognize and respond to the symptoms of people with diabetes experiencing severe hypoglycemia at work, at play and in public places.
In addition to her role as a Reviewer for dLife, Zoe's current projects include supporting the production of The Human Trial, the first full-length feature documentary film focusing on type 1 diabetes, which follows several research teams in their efforts to stop diabetes. The film will be released in 2014.
As an independent management consultant, she provides high-value market guidance to biotech and device developers of emerging diabetes technologies such as Biodel, Inc.
Known as the Diabetes Market Maven, she founded Diabetes Market, currently the largest global network of diabetes-related business professionals.
Since 1996, Zoe has been a member of AADE advocating for patient access to diabetes education and self-management tools. From 2001-03 she served as National Director of US Field Operations for Disetronic, leading a sales team of 65 and a clinical team of 45 certified diabetes educators serving insulin pump users.
