June 3rd 2006 - The TCOYD (Take Control of Your Diabetes) Conference and Health Fair takes place in Columbus, Ohio. This event is to educate and motivate people with diabetes and their loved ones, to take a more active role in their condition, in order to live healthier, happier, and more productive lives. A traditional, overnight summer camp for 150 campers ages 8-16, with a Counselor in Training (CIT) program for ages 17-18. 100 volunteer staff members are needed! (ages 19 ). June 17th - 23rd 2006 - The Donovan McNabb Diabetes Camp for Kids is a program operated by the American Diabetes Association. It is held at Camp Green Lane in Montgomery County Pennsylvania. The purpose of the camp centers on the importance of self-reliance and respect for others while providing recreational experiences and diabetes education for children with diabetes. Age: 8-16 (boys & girls).

June 18th 2006 - America's Walk for Diabetes at Island Park in Fargo, ND at 12:00 Noon.

June 19th 2006 - Dining with Diabetes at Madison-St. Clair Unit 900 Hillsboro Edwardsville, IL 62025 (Madison County) If you have diabetes, choosing and preparing food can be a real challenge. Lean how to cook foods that are low in sugar, fat and sodium at the Dining with Diabetes cooking classes. Those attending will learn how to cook with artificial sweeteners, low-fat products, herbs and spices. There will be cooking demonstrations and tasting of several recipes. $20 Registration Deadline: June 7.

June 20th 2006 - Race Across America Team Type 1 will cross the finish line at Atlantic City Boardwalk Intersection of Boardwalk and Mississippi Street from 12:00 – 6:00 pm.

June 21st 2006 -The Horace C. Polk Jr. Regional Diabetes Center at Memorial Medical Center in Lufkin, TX will have their next support group meeting from 12:00noon - 1:00 pm. The guest speaker will be Chris Caraway, Medical Representative of Pfizer, with a topic of "New Treatment for Diabetic Neuropathy." A box lunch and drink will be provided.
