Camp Buck is the premier camp program of the Nevada Diabetes Association for Children and Adults. Dates for 2013 are August 4 to August 10. This co-ed camp provides children, ages 7 to 14, a weeklong summer camping experience for children with diabetes. The camp offers a unique combination of learning and fun. The children develop a better understanding of their diabetes while participating in a week of recreational and athletic activities. Through the education provided by the medical staff and the leadership of the counselors, campers learn the importance of good self-management of their diabetes. Camp Buck is held at Grizzly Creek Ranch outside of Portola California. The Camper Villages are situated around a large meadow (which happens to be a great place to run and play) and are connected to the Dining Lodge and our other facilities with wide hard-surface walkways. Each cabin has its own restroom while shower facilities are located in the Activity Lodge. The cabins are air conditioned as needed in the summer and are heated in winter. Activities include a challenge course, sports court, archery range, fishing, kayaking, swimming, arts and crafts building, a multi-purpose hall, and amphitheater that has seen high drama and slap-stick, and of course a campfire area for those special moments of togetherness.

Registration for all camp programs can be done online or by calling.

While many of my fannish peers wanted to "Kill Wesley Crusher", the character was a bit like I would have liked to have been at that age. Wil's latest TV endeavor, The Wil Wheaton Project, is a mix of science-fiction, fantasy, horror, comics, and gaming news with irreverent...
