If you take insulin, you should know that certain situations may call for you to decrease your dose.
Weight loss. A loss of as little as five pounds may require a dose adjustment.
Exercise. If you're starting a new exercise program, your insulin needs may decrease.
Alcohol. Drinking can lower your blood glucose levels and therefore your insulin requirements.
Always talk with your diabetes care team before making changes in your insulin routine.
