Living with type 1 diabetes, Jessica has overcome several other health challenges as well. Shortly after being diagnosed with diabetes, she began volunteering at the Diabetic Youth Services and Camp Conrad Chinnock, a camping program for children with diabetes and their families. She has also successfully managed her health issues to become an accomplished singer and actress and has guest starred in a number of television series including “Chicago Hope,” “7th Heaven” and “Six Feet Under.” Jessica also voiced the Disney Channel character “Stanley” in the children’s animated series.
Jessica was awarded the Lilly for Life Achievement Award in 2006 in the category of Young Champion.
