1 cup  brown basmati rice
1 tbsp  vegetable oil
1 each  small onions
1 each  medium garlic cloves
4 each  medium garlic cloves
1 pinch  salt
2 cup  low fat unsalted chicken broth
1 each  cinnamon sticks
1 tsp  vegetable oil
0 1/2 oz  seedless raisins
1 tbsp  whole almonds
Directions
  1. Let the rice soak in water for 2 hours, rinse, and then drain.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a nonstick saucepan. Saute the garlic for about 2 to 3 minutes. Mix in the cloves and cook for 1 minute. Stir in the rice.
  3. Mix in the salt, broth, and cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil then decrease heat and simmer, covered, for 20 to 25 minutes. Remove cinnamon stick.
  4. Heat 1 teaspoon of oil. Mix in the raisins and almonds. Cook to warm. Combine with the rice.
