3 cup  cold water
0 1/2 lb  fresh asparagus
2 cup  fresh cherry tomatoes
0 1/4 cup  fresh basil
3 each  fresh green onions
3 tbsp  fresh lime juice
1 tbsp  olive oil
3 each  medium garlic cloves
1 1/2 tsp  lime peel zest
0 1/4 tsp  salt
0 1/4 tsp  black pepper
8 oz  French bread baguette
0 1/2 cup  crumbled blue cheese
  1. Blanch asparagus in boiling water for 2 to 4 minutes. Strain and dunk in an ice bath; dry.
  2. Toss asparagus with tomatoes, basil, lime juice, oil, garlic, lime peel, salt, and pepper. Spoon asparagus mixture onto bread and top with blue cheese.
