1 lb  top round steak, lean
4 oz  fresh mushrooms
1 each  medium onions
14 1/2 oz  fat free unsalted beef broth
1 pinch  salt and pepper
2 tbsp  cornstarch
  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Cut meat into 4 serving size pieces. Place in Dutch oven.
  3. Add mushrooms, onion, broth, salt, and pepper. Cover. Bake 2-1/2 to 3 hours or until tender.
  4. Remove meat and keep warm. Combine cornstarch with about 1/2 cup water. Stir into broth mixture.
  5. Place on a burner and cook over medium heat until thickened. Season to taste.
