6 oz  egg whites
0 1/2 tsp  cream of tartar
0 1/4 tsp  salt
0 3/4 cup  sugar
3 oz  Candy, mints, peppermint
  1. Using electric beaters, whip egg whites until foamy.
  2. Beat in cream of tartar and salt to form soft peaks.
  3. Gradually beat in sugar until stiff shiny peaks are made.
  4. Save 2 tablespoons crushed candy and gently mix in the rest to the mixture.
  5. Spoon rounded tablespoons of mixture onto foil covered baking sheets.
  6. Scatter the rest of the candy on top of the cookies.
  7. Bake at 300 degrees F 20 to 25 minutes or until cookies are golden. Let cool.
