2 oz  frozen chopped onion
2 each  medium garlic cloves
20 oz  canned unsalted diced tomatoes
2 tbsp  fresh basil
1 pinch  black pepper
8 oz  ground turkey, 99% fat free, raw
1 tbsp  cold water
3 tbsp  quick cooking rolled oats
0.125 tsp  garlic powder
0.125 tsp  onion powder
1 pinch  salt
4 oz  spaghetti pasta
  1. Sauté the onion and garlic for approximately 3 minutes over medium heat. Mix in the crushed tomatoes, half of the basil, and pepper. Simmer while preparing the meatballs.
  2. Mix together the turkey, egg substitute, water, oats, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Shape the mixture into 6 meatballs and set in pan with the tomato mixture.
  3. Simmer, covered, for about 15 minutes. Shake the pan every couple of minutes to ensure that the meatballs stay coated with sauce and cook on every side. Add in the rest of the basil.
  4. Cook the spaghetti in accordance with the directions on the package. Drain and separate onto 2 plates. Spoon 3/4 cup of the sauce and set 2 meatballs on top of each.
