4 oz  linguine pasta
6 each  fresh clams
0 1/2 cup  white wine
1 each  medium shallots
2 each  parsley sprigs
0 1/2 tbsp  olive oil
2 each  medium garlic cloves
0.125 tsp  hot red pepper flakes
14 1/2 oz  whole canned unsalted tomatoes
0 1/4 cup  chopped parsley
1 tsp  fresh oregano
6 1/2 oz  minced canned clams
2 tbsp  grated parmesan cheese, low sodium
2 tbsp  bread crumbs
  1. Cook the linguine in accordance with the directions on the package.
  2. Place the clams, wine, shallots, and parsley in a pot, cover, and steam over high heat for 5 to 10 minutes or until the clams open. Shake sporadically.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a deep skillet over medium low heat. Sauté the garlic for about 4 to 5 minutes. Mix in the red pepper flakes.
  4. Stir in the cooked pasta, tomatoes, parsley, oregano, minced clams, and cheese. Cook for 2 minutes. If the pasta appears to be dry, add the tomato juice 1 tablespoon at a time.
  5. Separate the pasta and clams onto 3 plates and sprinkle the bread crumbs on top.
