0 1/2 cup  margarine
0 1/4 cup  unsweetened applesauce
1 cup  sugar
0.3333 cup  packed light brown sugar
3 each  eggs
1 1/2 tsp  vanilla extract
3 cup  Flour, all purpose, bleached, enriched
1 1/2 tsp  low sodium baking powder
1 1/2 tsp  baking soda
1 tsp  ground cinnamon
0 1/2 tsp  salt
1 1/2 cup  fat free sour cream

Apple-Date Filling
0 1/2 cup  Apples, dried
0 1/4 cup  chopped dates
0.6667 cup  cold water
0.3333 cup  packed light brown sugar
1 tbsp  Flour, all purpose, bleached, enriched
0 1/4 tsp  ground nutmeg
0.125 tsp  salt

Cream Cheese Glaze
2 oz  fat free cream cheese
1 cup  powdered sugar
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. Apple-Date Filling: Mix together all ingredients in a pot and let boil. Lower heat and simmer 5 to 8 minutes. Let cool.
  3. Cream Cheese Glaze: Using electric beaters, blend cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Chill until ready to use.
  4. Using electric beaters, blend margarine, applesauce, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy. Gradually beat in eggs; mix in vanilla. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually beat dry ingredients into margarine mixture alternating with sour cream, starting and finishing with dry ingredients.
  5. Pour 1/3 of the batter into a cooking spray coated and floured 12-cup fluted cake pan; pour 1/2 of the Apple-Date Filling over top of batter. Continue layering until the batter is the top layer.
  6. Bake batter 1 hour or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cake cool 10 minutes in pan. Flip cake out of pan and let cool 5 minutes.
  7. Drizzle Cream Cheese Glaze over top of cake.
