  1. In a large baking dish, place the halibut, wine, and garlic, cover, and refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours.
  2. Adjust oven rack to middle position and preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the sour cream, mayonnaise, parsley, salt, and white pepper.
  4. Remove halibut from marinade and dry with paper towel, throw out remaining marinade.
  5. Place halibut onto a baking sheet in a single layer and evenly cover each steak with the sour cream mixture.
  6. Sprinkle on the onion and Parmesan cheese, top with crushed crackers.
  7. Bake, uncovered until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork, about 20 minutes.
