1 1/2 lb  fresh green beans
2 tbsp  Butter, unsalted
0 1/4 cup  shallots, chopped
0 1/2 tsp  salt
0 1/4 tsp  black pepper
  1. Place a steamer basket in a large saucepan. Add enough water to come just below bottom of basket. Bring to boiling.
  2. Place beans in steamer basket. Cover and steam for 5 to 7 minutes or until beans are crisp tender.
  3. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, melt butter over medium high heat. Add shallots. Cook and stir for 1 minute.
  4. Add beans, salt, and pepper to skillet. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes more or until heated through.
