2 tbsp  olive oil
3 each  medium garlic cloves
1 cup  medium onions
28 oz  tomato puree
2 tbsp  red wine
2 tsp  hot red pepper flakes
2 tsp  capers
1 1/2 lb  raw medium shrimp
6 tbsp  fresh basil
3 tsp  grated Parmesan cheese
  1. Peel and chop garlic and onion.
  2. In large skillet, over medium, heat oil, add garlic and onion. Cook 5 minutes, stirring often.
  3. Add tomato purée, stir and bring to boil.
  4. Add red wine, pepper, and capers. Reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes.
  5. Add shrimp to sauce, increase heat to medium-high and cook 4 - 5 minutes, until shrimp is lightly pink.
  6. Divide between six serving plates. Garnish with fresh basil. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
