Ingredients Directions
  1. Remove excess fat from meat, cut into 4 equal pieces.
  2. Cut bratwurst into 3/4" slices.
  3. Peel onion and slice into rings.
  4. In large skillet over medium heat, heat oil and cook meat and bratwurst until brown on all sides. Drain off fat and set aside.
  5. In 3 1/2- or 4 quart slow cooker, place onion and sweet pepper. Sprinkle with thyme, salt, and pepper.
  6. Add undrained tomatoes, tapioca, beef, and bratwurst.
  7. Reduce heat to low, cover and cook 8 - 10 hours, or on high heat setting 4 - 5 hours.
