5 cup  cold water
1 lb  fresh green beans
1 tbsp  olive oil
3 each  red onion
0 1/2 cup  low fat unsalted chicken broth
1 tbsp  balsamic vinegar
2 tsp  brown sugar
0 1/4 tsp  salt
0 1/4 tsp  black pepper
Directions
  1. In a large pot, bring the 5 cups of water to a boil. Add green beans and cook until tender, 6 minutes; drain, set aside, and keep warm.
  2. In a large nonstick frying pan, heat oil over medium-high heat, add onions and cook until browned, about 8 minutes.
  3. Slowly add broth, and cook for an additional 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add in vinegar, brown sugar, salt, and pepper, mix well. Add green beans back in and cook for 2 minutes.
