2 cup  whole wheat flour
1 cup  white all purpose flour
1 tbsp  sugar
1 tsp  low sodium baking powder
1 tsp  baking soda
1 tsp  salt
1 1/2 cup  low fat buttermilk
1 each  cooking spray
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the buttermilk, stir with a fork to make soft, but it will be a slightly sticky dough.
  4. Lightly flour your hands and form the dough into a ball. Lightly flour working surface and knead the dough gently 8-10 times.
  5. Form the dough into a 6-inch thick round, with a slightly flat top. Place dough on cooking spray coated baking sheet and score an X on the top with a knife.
  6. Bake for 35-45 minutes, remove to a cooling rack and serve still warm.
