2 cup  canned black beans
1 each  medium onions
2 each  medium garlic cloves
1 each  chopped green bell peppers
7 cup  cold water
1 tsp  olive oil
1 pinch  salt
1 pinch  black pepper
0.125 tsp  ground cumin
  1. In a Dutch oven, sauté onion, garlic and green pepper in oil over medium heat, until tender.
  2. Add beans and water, seasoning with salt, pepper and cumin to your desired taste.
  3. Mix well and simmer for 25 minutes.
  4. Pour the soup into a blender, set on puree. Once soup is to your desired consistency, return to Dutch oven on medium-low heat.
  5. Pour a few drops of olive oil in bowl for added flavor, and dish up soup.
  6. Serve immediately.
