1 each  canola cooking spray
6 each  Tomatillo, fresh, medium
1 each  fresh avocado
1 each  fresh green onions
2 each  medium garlic cloves
0 1/2 each  whole jalapeno pepper
1 tsp  sugar
1 tsp  fresh lemon juice
0 1/2 tsp  ground cumin
0 1/2 tsp  chili powder
0 1/4 tsp  salt
0.125 tsp  black pepper
  1. Preheat the broiler and lightly spray the broiler pan with vegetable oil spray.
  2. Cut the tomatillos in half with a sharp knife, and put with the skin side up on the prepared pan.
  3. Broil 4 to 6 inches from the heat for 5 minutes, then, turn and broil for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the tomatillos are slightly tender.
  4. Put the tomatillos in a covered container and refrigerate for at least 10 minutes in order to cool.
  5. Process the tomatillos with the remaining ingredients for 1 minute in a food processor or blender.
