  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Melt the margarine in a large nonstick pot then add in the celery and scallions. Cook until soft, about 4 minutes.
  3. Add in the flour and stir constantly until brown, about 1 minute.
  4. Continue stirring and add in the milk. Keep stirring until this boils and gets thick, about 3 minutes.
  5. Add in the cheese and stir until it is completely melted.
  6. Add the chicken, macaroni, and peas. Heat until the peas are thawed out and warm, about 3 minutes.
  7. Place the entire mixture into a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish and spread the crackers evenly on top.
  8. Bake about 10 minutes, until the crackers turn brown.
