14 floz  low fat unsalted chicken broth
0 1/2 cup  cold water
0 1/4 tsp  salt
1.3333 cup  orzo pasta
2 each  medium garlic cloves
8 each  fresh green onions
0.3333 cup  grated Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp  fresh basil
0.125 tsp  black pepper
  1. Using a 2-quart saucepan, heat broth, water, and salt to boiling. Stir in pasta, garlic, and onions. Heat to boiling, reduce heat. Cover and simmer 12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid is absorbed.
  2. Stir in remaining ingredients. Serve hot.
