Ingredients Directions
  1. Begin by grilling the peppers in a pan, skin sides up, until they are charred. Remove them from the heat, and then place them in a covered bowl for 5 minutes.
  2. Cut the bread into 8 thick slices and then toast both sides until golden.
  3. As soon as the peppers are cool enough to touch, remove the skins, cut them into thick strips, and then arrange them on the toasted bread with the strips of ham.
  4. Next, thinly slice the mozzarella cheese and arrange it on top of the bread. Grind over plenty of ground pepper and place under a hot grill or in the toaster oven for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbling and golden.
  5. To serve, arrange the fresh basil leaves on top and transfer to a serving dish or platter and enjoy!
