Ingredients Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F, and lightly coat a 1 1/2-quart casserole with cooking spray. Set aside.
  2. Combine milk and butter in a medium saucepan, and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Slowly stir in the oats, and then stir in apple or pear, dried cherries or raisins, walnuts, vanilla, and salt.
  4. Cook and stir until bubbly, then cook and stir for 2 minutes more. Pour into the prepared casserole.
  5. Bake the casseroles for 10 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle with brown sugar and bake about 5 minutes more or until bubbly around the edges.
  7. Cool slightly, and if desired, serve warm with additional milk.
