1 1/4 cup  white all purpose flour
0 3/4 tsp  salt
0 1/4 tsp  black pepper
1 1/2 lb  Beef, top round roast, extra lean, raw
1 each  cooking spray
2 each  medium garlic cloves
1 each  small onions
14 oz  fat free unsalted beef broth
12 oz  Beer, light, can/btl, 12 fl ounce
2 tsp  fresh thyme
Directions
  1. Combine the flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  2. Dredge the beef in the the flour mixture and sauté in a Dutch oven coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat for 7-10 minutes until browned. Add the garlic and cook for an additional minute. Remove beef from the dutch oven.
  3. Add the onion and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the broth, beer, thyme, and remaining salt and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, add the beef back in, cover Dutch oven, and simmer for about one hour, until beef is tender when pierced with a fork.
