1 tbsp  vegetable oil
0 1/4 cup  white all purpose flour
2 1/2 cup  cold water
0 1/2 tsp  salt
1 pinch  black pepper
  1. Pour all the fat out of a pan in which you have pan-fried steak, chicken, pork chops, or other meats.
  2. Blot out remaining fat with a paper towel.
  3. Add oil to the pan and bring to a frying temperature before adding flour.
  4. Cook and stir until brown and smooth.
  5. Add water and cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring frequently.
  6. Mix in the salt and pepper before serving!
