7 1/2 oz  low sodium canned black beans
0 1/4 cup  low sodium vegetable broth
0.125 tsp  ground cumin
0 1/4 tsp  powdered garlic
0 1/4 tsp  salt
2 tsp  chopped scallions
1 tsp  chopped parsley
  1. Heat beans, broth, cumin, garlic powder, and salt in saucepan for a few minutes, until warmed through. Strain, reserving cooking liquid.
  2. Transfer two-thirds of beans to serving bowl. Transfer remaining beans to small bowl, add a little cooking liquid and mash to a paste. Return paste to whole beans. Add scallion and parsley and stir gently to combine.
