2 cup  fat free reduced sodium chicken broth
1 cup  long grain brown rice
0 1/2 cup  shredded carrots
0 1/2 cup  fresh chopped celery
0 1/2 tsp  salt
0 1/4 tsp  hot red pepper flakes
1 each  medium garlic cloves
0 1/4 cup  fresh chopped green onion
3 tbsp  slivered almonds
Directions
  1. In a large saucepan boil chicken broth. Add rice, carrot, celery, salt, red pepper and garlic to the pan.
  2. Cover mixture and simmer at a lower heat setting for 50 to 55 minutes until rice absorbs the broth. Mix in almonds and green onions.
