1 lb  extra lean ground beef (5% fat)
0 1/2 cup  fresh chopped onion
2 each  egg whites
1 pinch  salt
1 pinch  black pepper
1 pinch  garlic powder
2 each  Buns, hamburger
4 each  Lettuce, romaine, fresh, inner leaf
4 each  small tomato
8 piece  Pickles, dill, low sodium, slices
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, onions, and egg whites. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Divide mixture evenly, and shape into 4 burgers.
  2. Place on a plate, cover, and refrigerate until ready to grill.
  3. Preheat stovetop or electric indoor grill according to manufacturer's instructions, use broiler, or fire up the outdoor grill if weather permits.
  4. Grill meat about 6 to 8 minutes, turning once until cooked through.
  5. Place a lettuce leaf on each half roll. Place burger on lettuce and top with tomato and pickle slices. Serve with mustard and ketchup.
