  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line 2 mini-muffin pans with mini-paper liners.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, water, oil and eggs; mix well.
  3. Spoon batter by 1/2 cupfuls into paper-lined muffin pans. Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into center of cupcake comes out clean.
  4. Remove cupcakes from oven and cool. Using a teaspoon, scoop out a cavity about 1/2 inch deep in center of each cupcake and discard.
  5. Fill cavity with 1 teaspoonful of cherry pie filling. Pat down filling with back of spoon.
