2 1/4 cup  cold water
0 1/2 cup  Grits, hominy, quick
0 1/2 cup  Cheese, cheddar, light, shredded
0 1/4 cup  canned green chile peppers
0 1/2 tsp  ground cumin
0 1/2 tsp  ground oregano
0 1/2 tsp  salt
0 1/4 tsp  garlic powder
Directions
  1. Stir grits into a large saucepan of boiling water over high heat.
  2. Reduce to low heat and cover. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in chilies, cheese, oregano, cumin, salt, garlic powder, and cook stirring constantly for about 2 minutes.
  4. Let stand for 3 minutes before serving.
