1 In large saucepan, heat oil over medium. Add garlic, carrots, celery, and onion. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes. 2 Add chicken broth, tomatoes, and tomato paste. Stir well. Lower heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes, stir occasionally. 3 In food processor or blender, purée soup in batches, until smooth. 4 Return soup to saucepan, add sugar and dill. Mix well and serve.

This soup can also be served chilled.
