12 oz ground beef, extra lean, raw
15 oz Beans, pinto, with brine, canned , undrained
0.5 cup fat free unsalted beef broth
1 tsp chili powder
0.5 tsp ground cumin
1 piece Bread, white, Texas toast, thick sliced (optional)

Salsa
2 fresh tomatoes , seeded and chopped
0.25 cup fresh chopped red onion
0.25 cup chopped yellow bell peppers (and/or green )
2 tsp fresh cilantro , snipped
1 medium garlic cloves , minced
1 pepper, black, dash
1 pinch hot pepper sauce (optional)
1 pinch salt


Directions
Chili
1 In a large skillet cook beef over medium heat until brown. Drain off fat.
2 Add undrained beans, salsa, broth, chili powder, and cumin to skillet.
3 Bring to boiling, reduce heat. Simmer, covered for 10 minutes. If desired, serve with Texas toast.
Salsa
1 In a medium bowl combine tomatoes, onion, sweet pepper, cilantro, garlic, black pepper and hot pepper sauce (optional). Season to taste with salt. Serve immediately or cover and chill for up to 3 days. Stir before serving.
