1 In a large pot, bring the 5 cups of water to a boil. Add green beans and cook until tender, 6 minutes; drain, set aside, and keep warm. 2 In a large nonstick frying pan, heat oil over medium-high heat, add onions and cook until browned, about 8 minutes. 3 Slowly add broth, and cook for an additional 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. 4 Add in vinegar, brown sugar, salt, and pepper, mix well. Add green beans back in and cook for 2 minutes.
Additional Information
This side dish is pretty low in sodium but if you wish to lower it a snitch more cut out the added salt.
