1 Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. 2 Arrange the sweet potato slices in even layers on the bottom of a nonstick 8-inch round or square baking pan. 3 Whisk together the half-and-half, brown sugar, orange zest, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small bowl. 4 Pour the mixture over the sweet potatoes, then dot with the margarine. 5 Bake, uncovered, for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender. Stir once halfway through the baking time.

Serve with tender braised pork chops or lean ham.
