In a large glass measuring cup, stir jello into cool tea until completely dissolved. Add hot tea, stirring constantly. If there are any lumps, press them against the side of the cup to dissolve.
Refrigerate until slightly thickened, about 30-45 minutes.
Remove 1 1/2 cups jello and set aside at room temperature.
Stir berries into remaining jello and spoon this mixture into a mold.
Refrigerate until set but not firm, about 15 minutes.
Beat the whipped topping and gently stir into the jello that was set aside. Mix until smooth.
Spoon on top of berries-jello mixture. Refrigerate until firm, at least 2 hours.
To remove from mold, place mold in warm water and count to 10. Place a moistened serving plate over mold and then invert the mold together with the plate, shaking gently to loosen.
