1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 2 Using an electric beater, blend together shortening and 6 tablespoons sugar. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Blend flour into shortening alternately with 1/2 cup milk. 3 Roll out dough on a floured surface and form a 1/2 inch thick rectangle. Slice dough into 18 trapezoid shapes, 2 1/2 inches long by 1 1/2 inches long by 3 inches long. Slice out a small wedge of dough from the bottom middle of each piece to form pants. 4 Coat each biscuit with the rest of the milk; sprinkle with remaining sugar and cinnamon. 5 Arrange biscuits on a cooking spray coated baking sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
Additional Information
These can be cut into any shape you want; the "pants" shape is a classic Mexican shape.
