Transfer into a bowl. 2 Put the zucchini in the steamer basket, place over the water, and steam, covered, for about 1 minute. Combine with the carrots. 3 Heat the butter, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a saucepan. Pour over the carrots and zucchini. Sprinkle the poppy seeds on top and toss to mix.
