Ingredients
2.5 lb fresh chopped pears , ripe pears, peeled, cored, chopped
0.5 cup cold water
1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
0.75 tsp ground ginger
0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
0.12 tsp ground nutmeg
2 cup sugar (up to 2 1/4 cups of sugar)


Directions
1 Add pears and water to a pot and let boil. Lower heat, place lid on pot, and simmer 10 minutes or until soft.
2 Using a food processor or blender, puree pear and water until smooth
3 Pour pear puree back into pot and mix in lemon juice, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar; let mixture boil. Lower heat and simmer 10 to 20 minutes, stirring often until mixture is thick.
4 Spoon pear butter into 3 sterilized half pint jars and seal, cool.
Additional Information
This butter can be chilled for up to 2 weeks. Use ripe pears, that are still firm.
