2 quart apple cider
1 quart cold water
3 tea bags (regular or decaffeinated)
0.5 medium oranges , with peel, thinly sliced
0.5 fresh lemons , with peel, thinly sliced
12 whole allspice
6 whole cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
1 pinch ground allspice (to taste)
1 medium oranges , with peel, thinly sliced (optional)
1 fresh lemons , with peel, thinly sliced (optional)


Directions
1 In large saucepan, over high heat, bring apple juice, water, tea bags, orange slices, lemon slices, whole allspice, cloves, and cinnamon sticks to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 3 minutes.
2 Remove tea bags, orange and lemon slices, allspice, and cloves; then simmer 5 minutes more. Stir in ground allspice.
3 Garnish with fresh slices of orange and lemon, if desired. Serve hot or chilled.
