0.5 cup unsweetened ketchup
2 tbsp sweetener (sugar substitute) (heat-stable)
1 tbsp quick cooking tapioca
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
0.25 tsp ground cinnamon
0.25 tsp hot red pepper flakes
2 lb turkey thighs (or chicken pieces)
1 cup cooked long grain brown rice , hot (optional)


Directions
1 Combine in a 3 1/2- or 4-quart slow cooker the ketchup, sugar substitute, tapioca, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, cinnamon, and crushed red pepper. Place turkey, meaty side down, on ketchup mixture.
2 Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 10 to 12 hours or high-heat setting for 5 to 6 hours.
3 Remove turkey to a serving platter. Pour cooking liquid into a small bowl. Skim off fat. Serve turkey with cooking liquid and, if desired, hot cooked rice.
