1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 2 Brown the ground beef and onion in a large ovenproof skillet with lid over medium heat, stirring to crumble. 3 Drain the meat and then pat dry with paper towels to remove any excess fat. Also, wipe the skillet with a paper towel. 4 Return the meat to the skillet, and then layer the potatoes, carrots, onions, green pepper, and tomatoes over the top. Sprinkle with pepper and basil. 5 Cover with the ovenproof lid and bake for 45 minutes.
