Servings
Ingredients
12 medium garlic cloves (2-4 heads of garlic)

Directions
1 Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
2 Remove some of the papery skin from the heads of the garlic, being careful not to break the heads apart.
3 Place the heads of garlic in a small, ungreased baking dish. Add a tablespoon of water and cover the dish tightly with foil.
4 Bake for 45 to 60 minutes, until the cloves are very soft to the touch. Squeeze the garlic paste from the heads as needed.
Additional Information
Sealed and refigerated, garlic paste will keep up to a week. Use it as a fat-free spread, to thicken salad dressings, and to impart a mellow garlic flavor to almost any savory dish.
